These people showed up recently at the abandoned Landguard Fort and were creeped out beyond imagination. Strolling through the 17th century hallways, skulking through prison cells, and tramping the World War II renovations, what they saw has my skin crawling. I can't stop feeling like somethings just... around... the corner. Built just outside Felixstowe, Suffolk, at the mouth of the River Orwell, Landguard Fort, or Langer Fort as it was originally known, was designed to guard the entrance to Harwich, England. Winter will be here sooner than you think, and you know what that means: horrible, cold roaring snow storms. Incidentally, that makes right now the perfect time to stock up on your firewood for the winter if you're lucky enough to have a fireplace. You could also use this time to get creative with your woodpiles before they're depleted by the cold, harsh winter. Here are some pretty breathtaking examples of woodpile art to inspire you.  This is so meta. Alastair Heseltine I wish I had the patience to make this kind of artwork. Do You Know What’s in Your Food? The Stuff In These 8 Foods Might Shock You.

Culture
Have you ever wondered what's exactly in your food? In the case of our food, ignorance might really be bliss. You probably aren't ready to know just how many additives are put in the food we consume everyday. Sometimes, so much is added to a particular product that when you break down its ingredients, it's no longer what the label says it is. This is a terrible trend that has to be stopped. 1.) Coffee: If you buy ground coffee beans, there's a change that it may contain diluting materials such as maltodextrins, roasted ground parchment, twigs, glucose, roasted date seeds, rye flour, roasted soybeans, glucose and other stuff that doesn't help the purity of your morning cup of coffee. madame.furie ...

These 10 Photos Were Taken Moments After Assassinations. They’re As Profound As They Are Eerie.

There are moments in history when it seemed like the world stopped. Like on Friday, November 22nd, a young President Kennedy was driving through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, TX. For just a little while, the day seemed beautiful and hopes were high, then in an instant Jackie was scrambling over the back of the car and JFK was slumped down. He had been shot. The 10 photographs below captured some of the most intense moments in history, catching what happened literally seconds after famous assassinations. It's hard to describe just how many emotions you'll feel when you see these. Martin Luther King: killed April 4, 1968 by James Earl Ray. Japanese photographer FUKE transforms the world into a colorful wonderland by just using his camera.. He starts by capturing images of ordinary places around his home in Sanuki and then, as he writes on his website, he "makes his own colors with his feelings and his emotions." In an interview with Life Treasure Collector earlier this year, FUKE elaborates that he was inspired to take up photography in 2003 when friends would visit him and comment on the beauty of his town. It's the kind of natural beauty that usually goes overlooked by those who see it every day. He decided to highlight the features of his town in an incredibly creative way. By shooting snowy landscapes at night, he creates an other-worldy aspect to the otherwise "b...

When we get gifts from our mother, we never think much about where they were bought. But we know she loves us, especially when we receive something beautiful and unique. So when one young man got a special package in the mail, something truly beautiful, he was impressed. But even more so when he turned it over. Kinda. Oh look at this awesome gift. It's just beautiful. imgur But then turn it over and... whoa, that leaves a mark. imgur Whoa. Not sure how I'd feel getting a gift made by someone convicted of sodomy. Although this present was made by a convicted felon, it's truly great that they have learned a skill, and give back to society. And thanks to the Orego...

To Commemorate WWI, This City Created A Powerful Temporary Ice Monument.

Culture
Last week, the world solemnly marked 100 years since the start of the first World War. Across the globe, countries and cities honored the occasion in their own way. In the city of Birmingham, England they did something very different. They hired Brazilian artist Nele Azevedo to construct a minimal monument of 5,000 ice figures. The unique temporary monument commemorated the sacrifices and losses the city suffered during World War I. Residents, many of whom their families fought in the war, took turns placing the figures on the steps in Chamberlain Square.   Crowds gathered to view the small ice sculptures.
